About ICC Mito Ya Uzima
ICC Mito ya Uzima Church History
In September 2014, ICC Mito ya Uzima Church was born in the humble common room of Pastor Emanuel’s home at Area Five Street, Morogoro, Tanzania. What began with a small group of devoted believers quickly became a sanctuary of uncompromised Bible teachings, fervent prayer, transformative seminars, and heartfelt communion. Rooted in the Word of God and fueled by the Holy Spirit, the church grew steadily as hearts were stirred by the Gospel.
Within months, the common room overflowed with worshippers. As God added to their number, the dining room and outdoor corridor also filled with Tanzanians, Ethiopians, DRC Congolese, Ugandans, Kenyans, Rwandans, Malawians, Zambians, Lesotho, Botswana, Japanese, Mozambicans, Chinese, Americans, Nigerians, and believers from many other nations—most of whom were international students studying in Morogoro’s universities. This vibrant, multicultural fellowship embodied the unity of Christ’s body across borders.
To accommodate the growing assembly, the church erected its first small tent in the front yard of Pastor Emanuel’s home. Even under the tent, God continued to bless the ministry, compelling the church to expand the structure repeatedly. The sound of worship, testimonies, and uncompromised anointed teachings echoed beyond the tent, drawing more souls into God’s kingdom.
Today, ICC Mito ya Uzima stands on the brink of a new chapter. By God’s grace, the church has secured over 2 acres of land in Morogoro Municipality, with 90% of the payment completed. Efforts are underway to raise the remaining 10% to finalize ownership. This land will serve as a permanent base for advancing God’s kingdom through holistic ministry. Future plans include:
- A worship center for spiritual nourishment.
- A church-planting school to equip leaders.
- An English-medium nursery school to educate and disciple children.
- A health center to serve the community’s physical needs.
- A water well to provide clean, accessible water.
- A Christian radio and TV station to broadcast hope across regions.
Guided by the words of Psalm 127:1 “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain,” ICC Mito ya Uzima trusts God to accomplish these great things for His glory. Together, the church marches forward, believing that what began in a common room will multiply into a legacy of transformation for Morogoro and beyond. To God and to Him alone be the Glory, now and forever, Amen
